Running to Great Purpose

We all have dreams that require us to learn some things to fulfill them. It’s impossible for us to learn everything we need on our own. That’s why we go to school! But modern educators realize that people still learn best through apprenticeship; by watching and then doing. Maybe the way Jesus prepared leaders was right after all. He called twelve, the Bible says, so that they might be with Him and so that he could send them out to announce the news of the Kingdom and heal the sick and cast out demons.

HarvestNet has redesigned its training school to incorporate more experiential learning. First of all, we have built it around the community of Gateway House of Prayer, a center for day and night worship and prayer. We have incorporated more one-on-one mentoring and small group interaction. All instructors will spend time in praying for the students for impartation and also giving the opportunity to apply and use what they have learned. And each year students will participate in some local and international outreach. It’s going to be awesome.

The goal is that graduates will be confident and empowered to take Jesus to whatever realm, vocation or place they are. We will even have a placement program to help those who want to enter ministry roles connect with opportunities. One of the most exciting things is that we have partnered with Bethel SSM in Redding, Iris, Circuit Riders and Global Awakening to bring in internationally known speakers who will inspire, empower and engage our students in the things that God is doing right now.

We have a great line-up of speakers including Andy Byrd, Amy Lancaster, Wes and Stacy Campbell, Marc Dupont, Bob Hazlett, Joel Bomberger, Charles Stock, Larry Kreider, Dave Hess, Lester Zimmerman, Duncan Watkinson, Mohan Babu, JC Alzamora, and many more of our HNI family of leaders. We are still in the process of confirming more speakers.

If you are interested or know someone who may be may be, we are accepting applications now. We are also accepting applications for those who want to be support staff to mentor the students and are willing to raise their support. We are interviewing for two paid positions at the moment, an Administrator and a Dean of Students. But we will need several others to help in leadership roles and HNI will assist you in the fundraising process if you are accepted. The HSSM website http://harvestnetssm.com will have details and applications online. You can also call Kate Wissler at 717.690.1334 at our HNI office for more information.
