Peter Greer is president and CEO of HOPE International, a global Christ-centered microenterprise development organization serving throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. Before beginning his role at HOPE, Peter worked as a microfinance practitioner in Cambodia, Zimbabwe, and Rwanda and earned a master’s degree from Harvard University. He has coauthored several books, including The Poor Will Be Glad, The Spiritual Danger of Doing Good, and Mission Drift. Peter and his wife, Laurel, live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with their three children.
Galen Burkholder is the international director of Global Disciples, a ministry that assists clusters of congregations in making disciples, planting churches, and equipping leaders. Currently Global Disciples serves in 43 countries. Prior to establishing Global Disciples in 1996, Galen served for 12 years with Eastern Mennonite Missions. Galen graduated from Hesston and Bethel Colleges in Kansas and Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Virginia. Galen and his wife, Marie, live in Landisville, Pennsylvania, and have three adult children and three grandchildren.
Duncan Watkinson and his wife, Vasanti, have been serving the Lord in India since 1981. They are a spiritual father and mother to couples involved in church leadership, church planting, kingdom business, and mercy ministries. Duncan has an extensive background in management and leadership and obtained his master’s degree in engineering from Cambridge University in England. He has traveled extensively, working as an engineering manager in Australia, England, and India. He is Managing Director of Turbocam India and oversees works caring for the leprosy affected and disadvantaged children. He teaches, trains and disciples in many contexts and is the author of several books.
Terry Snow founded Youth With A Mission Haiti in 1986 and serves as its national director. His message instills hope, practicality as he continues to provide vision for the ministry. His wife, Ingvild, serves in administration and hospitality and home schools their five children and one foster daughter, most of whom are also active in the ministry. Their eldest son currently serves as director of the Saint Marc campus.
Breakout Session Speakers
Tim and Cheryl Pfautz give leadership to or participate in short-term mission teams on four continents. They desire to train cross-cultural short-term mission teams to broaden cultural understanding. Cheryl speaks at women’s retreats and leadership events, challenging others to walk in their unique call. Since 1997, Tim serves Global Disciples as Director of Finance. They live in Ephrata with their five children.
Jere Shertzer has a vision to see church leaders work together to advance the Kingdom of God in a region. Jere holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Intercultural Studies from Lancaster Bible College and a Master of Business Administration from Eastern University. For 16 years, Jere worked with those in homelessness and poverty, serving as the chief operating officer and president/CEO of Water Street Ministries. He enjoys playing soccer and studying world history and leadership. He and his wife, Shannon, live in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
David Hain is at the heart of From Addict to Disciple, a ministry in South Africa where he ministers to those caught in the snare of addiction. He grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania, as a nominal Christian. He pursued worldly success and quickly found it. One night God spoke to David in a new way, and David became a missionary to the homeless and to addicts. He currently counsels, works in prisons, and ministers internationally.
Ron Bare, CFP® is the founder and president of Bare Wealth Advisors. His mission is to advise and lead clients to a life of stewardship by applying biblical principles to financial planning and wealth management processes. Ron, wife Lisa, and their four children live on a working farm in Atglen, Pennsylvania. He is an active member of Keystone Church in Paradise, PA, serving in several capacities.
